Find Somebody To Hold You Accountable
“Create your work /life balance”
Today’s message in creating your work life balance. Is to find somebody that you trust in your life to hold you accountable. Sometimes it can be hard to give people a chance to have an opinion on your life because they can be very judgmental, that’s why you need to find somebody who you know has your best interest in mind, and somebody who understands what it is you are actually trying to achieve.
In life we generally have a multitude of things that we have to deal with, so when it comes time to focus on what we really want to it can be quite difficult. For me I have found it a challenge to stay consistent and motivated when the road gets tough. Although I would prefer to focus solely on my business, until I’m at a steady financial position with it, I still have to work fulltime and on top of that, I have four kids, a husband, a flat, family and friends who all require my time and effort. Which can sometimes be quite draining and leaves you with no more energy to focus on your own things.
“Hold each other accountable”
So recently I was talking to a friend of mine who has similar struggles and we have decided to hold each other accountable, we have decided to make time each week to check in and update each other on our progress and what we are wanting to achieve. This is something you do need in life sometimes, to keep you on track with the direction you are trying to head in, but it is something you have to be willing and open too, because if you are not ready to hear anything you won’t receive it, all you will do is become defensive with the person who is trying to hold you accountable.
For me personally, I think it is helpful in my situation, that we are both holding each other accountable and its not just one sided, we know what the other person is trying to achieve and what we are currently dealing with and for us it is quite similar, so it works. It also helps that we are both not judgmental people, I am very opinionated and like to offer my advice, but only if the other person wants to hear it and she is very uplifting and truthful, so it’s a nice balance.
“We all need a helping hand”
The reality is, in life we all may need a helping hand every once in a while, so know what you are trying to achieve, decide what you need to help you to achieve it, find the right people to surround yourself with who can, in some way help you with the process and keep going until you reach your goal.
